Frederick Hiam Ltd is a diverse farming and fresh produce business across Norfolk and Suffolk. We grow potatoes, onions, parsnips, sugar beet and cereals.
We are looking to recruit 1 fixed term Tractor Driver and 1 permanent Tractor Driver to operate one of our John Deere or Fendt tractors, to carry out destoning, irrigation and trailer work.
The temporary position is available to start immediately until 31 October 2026.

About the role
Salary: £12.71 per hour plus overtime rate
Working hours: 39 per week, Monday – Friday and early finish on a Friday. Overtime and weekend work available
Holidays: 31 days holiday, including bank holidays
Location: Main office, Brandon Fields, Suffolk, IP27 0SE, must be able to travel to all other sites farmed by Frederick Hiam Ltd.
General duties that are required but not limited to:
- Operate farm equipment to cultivate, irrigate and harvest crops.
- Adjust and set up basic settings on machinery to the required specification.
- Operate light vehicles and farm machinery such as pick-up trucks, telehandlers, forklift trucks, tractors and implements by obeying applicable traffic laws, following operator instructions.
- Ensuring that farm machinery, equipment, and tools are operational by cleaning farm machinery, equipment and tools.
- Working alongside the Farm Workshop team to carry out repairs, including routine and preventative maintenance on machinery.
- Flexibility with working hours during peak/key production and harvesting seasons.
What you’ll need to have:
- A full manual driving licence
Experience required
- Tractor driving and working on a farm.
- Using & attaching implements.
- Machinery maintenance and repair skills.

- Have the ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively.
