Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Assistant/Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in preparing and serving high-quality meals, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and supporting the overall smooth operation of our kitchen. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about catering, cooking, and delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Duties

Assist in meal preparation and food presentation in accordance with established recipes and standards
Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients, assembling dishes, and ensuring timely service
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing utensils, equipment, and work surfaces
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Assist with catering events, including setting up and serving food to guests
Monitor stock levels and notify management of supplies needed for upcoming service periods
Support the team during busy periods by providing excellent customer service and serving meals as required
Follow health and safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is highly desirable
Proven skills in cooking, meal preparation, and food presentation
Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in a professional kitchen setting
Experience with food preparation for large groups or catering events is advantageous
Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and basic culinary techniques
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
