We are holding a Recruitment Day on Wednesday 24th June at Lidl, Kendal store .

We’re hiring now for the following positions:

Customer Assistants (£13.45 up to £14.45 per hour)
Shift Managers (£15.45 up to £15.95 per hour)

Our recruitment day takes place between 10am and 2pm and will include a welcome introduction to Lidl as well as a face-to-face interview.

CUSTOMER ASSISTANT - As a Lidl Customer Assistant, no two shifts are the same. From restocking shelves to jumping on tills, you’ll keep moving, keep business booming and never be bored. You’ll take pride in going the extra mile to keep the store clean, tidy and organised, working closely with your colleagues and making sure that every customer receives the service they deserve. You could even become a Freshness, Non-Food or Bakery Specialist.

SHIFT MANAGER - As a Retail Shift Manager at Lidl, you’ll help us maintain our high standards day after day. From motivating your team to taking responsibility for the shop floor, you’ll keep our store running like clockwork, thriving in a fast-paced and challenging environment. You’ll also reap the rewards of your hard work, enjoying the responsibility to prove yourself as a leader and find your footing for future success.

In return, we’ll give you a competitive salary based on equal opportunity and pay structures, plus an extra £2.00 per hour for work during bank holidays and £3.50 per hour for night shifts, as well as a generous benefits package designed to support your well-being and life outside Lidl.

Our store recruitment open days take approximately 1 hour to complete as there may be a small wait time.

What you'll do

Customer Assistant:

Help our customers with their questions, queries and requests
Efficiently work deliveries as they arrive in store
Passionately provide excellent customer service
Proactively keep the bakery topped up by baking fresh goods

Shift Manager:

Motivate and support your team, learning from our Leadership and Company Principles
Swiftly solve problems and delegating tasks
Create an environment where your colleagues can succeed alongside you
Manage operations within your Store and colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager and Deputy Store Manager
Handle freshness, cash processes, inventory and stock management to make sure shifts run smoothly
Give our customers the very best experience every time they visit your store

What you'll need

Customer Assistant:

Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Excellent customer service skills
Flexibility to start a shift early or finish late
A positive approach to changing priorities
Drive and passion to work hard and make your store a success
A smile on your face and a friendly manner to inspire your team and help our customers

Shift Manager:

Experience leading a team to achieve targets in a bustling, fast-paced environment
The ability to effectively delegate tasks and motivate your team
Patience and a friendly manner with the ability to keep calm in any situation
Passion to thrive as a key part of the Store Team
A proactive and encouraging approach to help your colleagues develop themselves and store operations
