Job Title: Social Worker - Family Assessment Centre

Responsible To: Registered Manager

Are you a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England and has experience of working with and supporting children and families?

Look no further and apply today to join our friendly team at Blue Springs Family Centre! You will be part of a team in a residential setting; working with four families on a day-to-day basis providing detailed evidence-based assessment recordings of the parents’ abilities to meet the safety and care/welfare needs of their children in line with the National Assessment Framework.

Blue Springs Family Centre is a Residential Parenting Assessment Centre for parents, their child(ren) and expectant families who the referring Authority feel need additional support and assessment prior to re-integration into the community. We offer a range of services focusing on evidence-based assessments to meet the needs of vulnerable parents. We also believe that our service should exist to provide a safe, secure, and welcoming home that builds confidence and equips parents with all the necessary skills to parent safely and independently wherever possible.

Main Duties and Skills:

You will liaise with varied professionals and services to provide a holistic service to service users and staff alike.
You will be responsible for managing and undertaking complex parenting assessments within the centre and within the community.
You will ensure that the child's immediate welfare is afforded paramount consideration.
You will implement family parenting assessments, complete court reports and attend professional meetings about families.
You will conduct family work to a high standard, supervise and provide professional knowledge and mentoring to Social Work Students and Family Assessment Workers.
You will have knowledge of current statutory and regulatory guidelines governing the operation of Parenting Assessment Centres, services for children and young people and of childcare legislation
You will be required to provide supervision and training to the support team.
You will be required to provide advice, guidance, and support for staff members in conjunction with the Registered Manager.
You will work on your own initiative and judgment
You will have Children and Families social work experience, preferably of at least 2 years, with experience of undertaking parenting assessments
Have a patient, calm and empathetic personality.
Good communication skills, along with the ability to express in written form.

· Full UK Driving License and use of own car

· Flexibility, adaptability, and confidentiality

Self employed/ISW considered
