Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Ambulance Care Assistant (SEN) for our Schools Specialist Transport Division) to provide compassionate and professional care for children and young people with special educational needs. This role involves supporting pupils during transportation to and from school, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The successful candidate will play a vital part in facilitating access to education while delivering high standards of patient care within a specialised transport environment. Experience in assisted living, patient care, or nursing is highly desirable, alongside a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable individuals with diverse needs.
Duties
- Safely assist children and young people with SEN during transportation, ensuring their comfort and security throughout journeys
- Provide medical aid when necessary, responding promptly to any medical needs or emergencies
- Drive the vehicle safely, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Assist with heavy lifting of mobility aids or specialised equipment to facilitate safe transfers
- Support pupils in activities that promote social interaction during transit
- Maintain accurate records of journeys, incidents, and care provided in compliance with organisational policies

What We’re Looking For:
- A caring and reliable individual with a passion for helping others.
- Previous larger vehicle driving experience is a plus, but not essential.
- Willingness to work as part of a dedicated team.
Successful applicants will be required to:
- · Undergo an enhanced DBS check
- · A medical check (cost met by Amvale)
- · Hold a full UK car licence with no more than 3 points
