Nestled in the vibrant town of Beith, Rockwood House is more than just a place to live. It is a small, nurturing home where young people can grow, make connections, and feel part of something. We encourage involvement in local groups, clubs, and activities, always working alongside each young person to help them settle, build confidence, and take those all-important next steps towards their future.

As a Residential Child Care Worker, you will help create a safe, nurturing and supportive home for children and young people. Through positive relationships, consistency and trauma-informed practice, you will support them to build confidence, develop life skills and achieve positive outcomes.

What you will do

Build trusting, supportive relationships with children and young people
Provide emotional support, guidance and positive role modelling
Support education, health, wellbeing and daily living activities
Contribute to care plans, assessments and reviews
Create opportunities for fun, play and meaningful experiences
Work collaboratively with families and partner agencies
Maintain accurate records and reports

About you

You will be compassionate, patient and committed to helping children and young people thrive. You will understand the importance of building positive relationships and providing consistent support, particularly for those who have experienced adversity or trauma. You will be able to work effectively as part of a team, communicate confidently and remain calm during challenging situations. You will hold, or be willing to work towards, an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People). This role requires SSSC registration and membership of the PVG Scheme.
