The Role
The post holder will provide strategic direction and leadership across Primary & Community Care within NHS Lanarkshire to develop excellence in clinical care. This will involve working across professional and organisational boundaries; in partnership and in collaboration with others including, Medical Staff, General Practitioners and staff working in GP practices, Allied Health Professionals, Health and Social Care Partnerships , Acute Divisional Management Team, individuals, carers, Higher Education Institutions, Voluntary, Independent and Third Sector Organisations.
The post holder will have responsibility in five main areas:

Professional Leadership providing highly specialist expert advice in relation to Nursing in Primary & Community Care services across NHS Lanarkshire and support implementation of the Primary Care Implementation Plan (PCIP) .

Expert Practice - demonstrating expert practice and knowledge in relation to Primary & Community Care.

Strategic Planning/Policy Development working closely with team members to provide strategic vision for the development, improvement and delivery of services within NHS Lanarkshire and Health and Social Care Partnerships and further afield, as appropriate. This includes a lead role in policy and standards development, implementation and evaluation in relation to Primary & Community Care determining care delivery in both acute, primary & community care settings.

Education and Training develop and deliver specialist educational programmes to meet the needs of nurses and other relevant stakeholders. This shall be achieved by leading in the identification of educational needs; undertaking investment planning and developing strategy to meet these educational requirements within the area of responsibility.

Research and Development - developing and working with relevant stakeholders to undertake research, develop research proposals, and evaluate research. The prime driver shall be the attainment of excellence in clinical practice, provide expert leadership in implementation of General Medical Service’s contract and participate in local and national audits, evaluation and leadership in relation to Primary and Community Care. Monitor and progress audits as part of Research Steering Group.
In this key role, you will:

Provide expert leadership for advanced practice implementation to deliver across primary care, influencing clinical governance agenda to improve and ensure the quality of Advanced Practice in Primary Care. Provide expert knowledge, advice and consultancy in relation to Primary & Community Care Services across NHS Lanarkshire that will inform both the commissioning and strategic development of the service.

Provide expert operational leadership in the development of services to raise the profile of the area of responsibility and develop excellence in clinical practice.

Provide expert professional advice to the Directors of Nursing across the Health and Social Care Partnerships, Integrated Joint Boards, senior management and leadership teams

Provide expert level of knowledge and ability to form the development of professional proposals at a local, regional and national level, ensuring the appropriate contribution to integrate these into practice
What You'll Bring:

Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
-
Experienced nurse with significant experience in a senior clinical/management role.

Educated to Masters Level with a recognised and appropriate post graduate qualification a
-
asters level or above, for example, post graduate Advanced Clinical Practice.

Able to demonstrate knowledge of NHS Scotland’s Leadership Qualities framework or equivalent framework.
-
A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
