Clinical Pharmacist Independent Prescriber (Part-Time)

Kilbirnie Medical Practice

Kilbirnie Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Pharmacist Independent Prescriber to join our friendly and supportive team on a part-time basis 16-20 hours per week.

We are a well-established training practice serving approximately 8,000 patients, offering flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to develop a rewarding and fulfilling role tailored to your interests and expertise. We currently have 4 GP partners, 3 salaried GP’s, an ANP and a pharmacy team employed by the health board who manage acute prescription requests and discharge letters.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the management of long-term conditions and medication optimisation, including:

Hypertension reviews and medication titration
Lipid management and statin prescribing
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) management
Diabetes reviews and optimisation
Asthma and COPD reviews

There will also be opportunities to undertake and develop services in:

Contraception reviews
Pain management
Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) management
Targeted prescribing projects
Other specialist areas aligned with the successful candidate’s interests and skills

About You

You will be:

A qualified Clinical Pharmacist with the general pharmaceutical council (with a post graduate clinical diploma or equivalent experience)
An Independent Prescriber
Passionate about delivering high-quality patient care
Confident managing long-term conditions and medication optimisation
Keen to develop new skills and services within primary care

Pay banding appropriate to skills and experience

SPPA pension Scheme

Profession GPC fees/indemnity paid by practice
