Full job description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a GRP mould maker, preparation & service specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining moulds used in glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) production and various wet & dry sanding paper and machine polishing . The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in GRP mould making and preparation and finishing. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your technical expertise within a dynamic environment, contributing to the creation of high-quality moulds that meet precise specifications This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to safety in the workplace.

Responsibilities

Fabricate GRP moulds using glass reinforced plastic and various hand tools and fabrication techniques
Operate hand tools and power tools to finish products according to specifications.
Inspect moulds for quality assurance, identifying any defects or areas for improvement.
Repair and correct any defects using appropriate methods using a combination of wet & dry, compound and buffers, gel coat, spray guns and other tools.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
Assist in the movement of materials within the warehouse as needed.

Requirements

Must have proven experience in similar roles, ideally in a similar industry
Must be reliable and punctual
Must have a keen eye for detail and methodical work ethic
Must have strong ability to manage time efficiently.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Must have strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities

Experience

Previous experience in GRP mould making and preparation and finishing is essential.
Prior exposure to working with fibre-reinforced plastics or composite materials is essential.
Perform finishing to achieve the desired surface quality and dimensions
Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve mould-related issues
Assist in the assembly of mould components, ensuring alignment and fit are precise
Utilise tooling effectively to produce accurate and durable moulds
Maintain detailed records of work performed, including modifications and repairs
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and quality requirements
Familiarity with tooling processes utilised in mould making or similar industries

This role requires a proactive approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to quality craftsmanship and safety standards.

Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour
