Full job description

Server & Receptionist – Full-Time

Star Hotel Kingussie | Kingussie, Scottish Highlands
Pay: starting from £13.50 per hour
Job Type: Full-time / Permanent

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and flexible Server & Receptionist to join our team at Star Hotel Kingussie.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with guests and wants a full-time role with variety. You will work across both hotel reception and food & beverage, giving you the chance to develop your hospitality skills across different areas of the hotel.

The Role

You will work across reception and our restaurant/bar depending on the needs of the business.

Reception shifts

07:00–15:00 or 15:00–23:00
Checking guests in and out
Answering guest enquiries by phone, email and in person
Taking reservations and assisting with bookings
Dealing with guest requests and ensuring excellent customer service
Upselling rooms, food, drinks and hotel services where appropriate
Working independently and confidently during your shift

Server / Waitress shifts

You may also work across our food & beverage operation, including:

Breakfast, lunch and dinner shifts
Serving food and drinks to hotel residents and local guests
Taking orders and providing friendly, professional service
Setting up and clearing tables
Handling payments
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
Helping to ensure every guest has a great experience

What we're looking for

We are looking for someone who is:

Friendly, welcoming and confident with guests
Reliable, hardworking and flexible
Comfortable switching between different areas of the hotel
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Organised and able to multitask
Confident with customer service and sales
Comfortable working evenings, weekends and holidays
Previous hotel, restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred, but we are happy to consider the right person with a great attitude

Most importantly, you should enjoy working with people and take pride in providing excellent service.
