Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our care home team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for providing high-quality care to our residents. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of elderly individuals, supporting their independence and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

Supervise and support care staff, ensuring the delivery of compassionate and professional person centred care
Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and medication management in accordance with care plans
Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans in collaboration with residents and their families
Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, recognising any changes or concerns promptly
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and report any incidents or issues to senior management
Lead by example to promote a positive, respectful, and safe environment within the care home
Organise and participate in staff training sessions to uphold high standards of care
Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members to ensure seamless care delivery

Requirements

Previous supervisory or leadership experience within a senior care or care home setting
Strong understanding of senior care needs and best practices
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to develop and manage care plans tailored to individual needs
IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and documentation
Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in eldercare
Organised, proactive, and capable of supervising a team effectively
Registration with the SSSC
To have or be willing to work towards Level 7 award in health and social care
