Job Title: Service Technician

Location: Atherton, Greater Manchester

Reports To: Operations Manager

Contract: This is a full-time, permanent position.

Role Purpose: The Service Technician is responsible for ensuring the timely servicing, calibration and testing of portable combustion and emission analysers, delivering high-quality products and services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

· Service, repair, and calibrate the full range of combustion and emission analysers in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.

· Prepare, configure, and programme products prior to calibration and testing.

· Produce Calibration Test Reports that accurately document calibration results.

· Undertake basic fault-finding, diagnosis, and rectification of non-conforming products in line with the Kane Care process.

· Continuously monitor methods, processes, and procedures to ensure departmental goals relating to efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost savings are achieved.

· Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues across departments where required.

· Be prepared to work overtime and assist other departments during busy periods as required.

· Comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Person Specification: Essential

Proven experience in a similar service, calibration, or electronic testing role.
ONC in Electronic Testing or an equivalent qualification.
Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and engineering drawings.
Strong fault-finding and repair skills.
Competent practical skills in mechanical assembly, soldering, and related electronic assembly techniques.
Good documentation, literacy, and communication skills.
Proficiency in PC hardware and software applications used for product setup, configuration, and testing.
Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Experience of Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety requirements relevant to the role.
