Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Barristers Clerk to provide essential administrative support within our Chambers.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing case files, liaising with clients and courts, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily diary and administration activities.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail to develop their career within our set.

This is a full-time role based at our office in Preston, Lancashire.

Duties

Organise and maintain case files, documents, and materials efficiently
Liaise with barristers, clients, courts, and external agencies to coordinate schedules and appointments
Manage court listings, deadlines, and filing requirements in accordance with legal procedures
Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to enquiries and assisting clients as needed
Assist with administrative tasks such as drafting correspondence, preparing reports, and data entry
Support the barristers in preparing documentation for hearings and meetings
Monitor case progress and update relevant parties regularly to ensure deadlines are met

Requirements

Proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Strong analysis skills to interpret legal documents and identify key information
Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach to client interactions
Previous administrative experience, preferably within a legal or professional environment
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software is desirable
Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy in all work undertaken

Pay: £24,420.00-£32,000.00 per year
