Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator with 5 years + experience to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines to accurately bend and shape sheet metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of fabrication processes, mechanical knowledge, and attention to detail to ensure high-quality production standards are met. Duties
- Set up and operate press brake machinery according to specifications and technical drawings
- Adjust machine settings to achieve precise bends and angles in sheet metal components
- Monitor machine operation during production runs, making necessary adjustments for quality control
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy, dimensions, and surface finish, ensuring compliance with quality standards
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to minimise downtime
- Use hand tools, tooling, and measurement devices such as calipers and gauges to verify specifications
- Assist with material handling, including loading raw materials and stacking finished products
- Maintain a clean and organised work area in accordance with health and safety regulations
Experience
- 5 years + experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Knowledge of sheet metal properties, fabrication techniques, and welding processes is desirable
- Familiarity with grinding, assembly, and the use of hand tools and tooling systems
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings and basic mathematical measurements
- Prior experience working with sheet metal components, including cutting, bending, and finishing tasks
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure precision in all work performed
