Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Bartender to join the team at Highland Park Bar within the Kirkwall Hotel. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant team in a busy hotel environment, delivering high-quality drinks and service to patrons. The position is paid and suitable for individuals who thrive in social settings and possess strong organisational skills. Full time & part time positions available.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with hotel standards.
Greet guests warmly, take orders accurately, and deliver exceptional customer service throughout their visit.
Ensure all drinks are prepared safely, adhering to food safety regulations and responsible serving practices.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, including glassware, utensils, and bar equipment.
Manage cash transactions efficiently using the till system and handle payments accurately.
Restock bar supplies as needed, monitor stock levels, and assist with inventory management.
Engage with guests to promote specials or upcoming events, enhancing their overall experience.
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to ensure a safe environment for staff and guests.

Experience

Previous experience in hospitality or as a bartender is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
Knowledge of food safety standards relevant to bar operations is advantageous.
Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced restaurant or bar setting is desirable.
Basic maths skills are necessary for handling transactions accurately.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods.
Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanour that fosters guest satisfaction. This role offers an engaging work environment within the Kirkwall Hotel’s Highland Park Bar, where your enthusiasm for hospitality can shine through while delivering memorable experiences for our guests.

Pay: £10.85-£13.50 per hour
