Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile General Farm Worker / Stockman to join our agricultural team. This role involves hands-on work across various farm operations, including animal care, crop maintenance, and equipment upkeep. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth running of daily farm activities, contributing to the health of livestock and the productivity of crops. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about farming to develop their skills in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Care for livestock, including feeding, watering, and monitoring health and behaviour
Operate and perform basic repairs on farm machinery and equipment using hand tools and power tools
Conduct routine maintenance on farm infrastructure and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency
Use mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and minor repairs of farm machinery
Apply basic maths skills for measuring fertilisers, feed quantities, or irrigation schedules
Perform heavy lifting tasks related to loading/unloading supplies or moving livestock equipment
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas to promote safety and productivity
Assist with animal husbandry duties, ensuring animals are well cared for and healthy

Qualifications

Prior experience or knowledge in, animal care, or farm maintenance is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided where necessary
Practical skills in operating hand tools, power tools, and basic equipment repair
Mechanical knowledge relevant to farm machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily tasks
Good physical fitness with the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to farming activities

This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to contribute to sustainable farming practices while developing a broad skill set within agriculture.

Pay: £13.50-£15.00 per hour
