Job Advert: Welder/Fabricator (will accept trainees)
Location: Petersfield, West Sussex
Salary: £14-18 per hour (depending on experience)
We are a well-established and growing business based in Petersfield, West Sussex, specializing in high-quality metalwork for a variety of sectors, including gates, staircases, balustrades, custom metalwork, and automotive welding. We are looking for a welder/fabricator to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for precision and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and weld gates, staircases, balustrades, custom metalwork, and automotive components, ensuring all work meets the highest standards of quality and detail.
- Read and work from technical drawings and specifications without the need for input from management.
- Conduct welding and fabrication tasks both in our workshop and out on-site at customer locations across Hampshire, Sussex, London, and occasionally further afield.
- Deliver high-quality, finished products that align with our commitment to customer satisfaction and attention to detail.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment, and ensure that tools and equipment are kept in good working order.
- Work independently and take responsibility for managing your own workload.
Essential Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (due to the location of the workshop and travel requirements).
- Proven experience in welding and fabrication, with the ability to work independently and from technical drawings.
- Experience in a variety of welding techniques (MIG, TIG, ARC) and a strong understanding of different metals and materials. (This is not essential, please still get in contact if not all three)
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of work.
- Polite, professional, and reliable, with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Ability to work on-site, often at customer locations, and adapt to different environments and project requirements.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in automotive welding and fabrication.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards on-site and in the workshop.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance and repairs on welding equipment.
Working Hours:
- Regular working hours: 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday.
- 30-minute lunch break.
- Some weekend and overtime work may be available.
