Salary: £30,000 per year (40-hour week) plus performance-based bonuses
Hours: 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday
The role
We are looking for an experienced SEO and PPC specialist to drive search and paid performance for a fast-growing ecommerce group.
This is a combined search and performance role. You will drive our organic SEO and run our paid advertising side by side, so you cover the full picture of how customers find us, from a Google search to a Meta ad to a YouTube view. On SEO, you will work to a strategy set by our in-house marketing lead and run the AI systems he has built. On paid, you will have a freer hand to build, test and optimise. Either way, because you cover both, you keep organic and paid pulling together rather than competing.
You will be responsible for rankings, traffic, leads and revenue growth across our brands.
What makes this role different
We are investing heavily in AI-driven systems across the business. On SEO specifically, our marketing lead sets the strategy and has already built the AI systems that power it: content generation, bulk on-page optimisation, data analysis and reporting. Your role is to take that strategy and those systems and drive SEO at scale, executing, optimising and owning the quality and the results. You bring the SEO craft and judgement; the direction and the tooling are already in place for you to run with. Same expertise, far greater output.
This is why technical comfort matters. You do not need to be a developer, but you do need to be genuinely comfortable with technology and keen to work hands-on with AI tools, The people who thrive here see AI as a force multiplier and want to run with it, not just tolerate it.
About us
We are an established, family-run UK ecommerce business of more than 30 years, now in our next phase of growth. We operate one of the UK's largest bathroom spares websites, alongside a group of related bathroom brands and a local showroom, all built on a clear sustainability mission: helping people repair rather than replace.
As we scale, we are building internal AI systems to amplify expertise, not replace it. Your work will have a direct, visible impact on revenue, and a real impact on customers trying to fix something rather than throw it away.
What you'll do
Drive our SEO (strategy and systems set in-house):
- Execute our SEO strategy across all our sites, ecommerce and local.
- Run and optimise product, category and high-converting pages for rankings and conversions, at scale through our AI systems
- Run technical audits and implement fixes (site speed, indexation, redirects, structured data)
- Build our backlink profile and manage PR and outreach, a key growth area for us and one part of SEO that is genuinely yours to own end to end
- Execute site-wide internal linking strategies
- Own local SEO for our showroom (Google Business Profile, local rankings)
- Review and refine the output of our AI systems so quality stays high at volume
- Stay ahead of where search is going, including AI and generative search (GEO)
- Track and report monthly on rankings, traffic and growth
Run our PPC and paid media:
- Plan, launch and optimise paid campaigns across Meta, Instagram, YouTube and Google Search
- Treat Meta as a major growth channel: build and test creatives, manage budgets, and drive towards strong ROAS
- Coordinate paid search with organic so the two do not cannibalise each other
- Set up and manage conversion tracking and attribution, and report on spend, ROAS and revenue
- Make clear calls on which channels deserve budget and which do not
Work with our AI tools:
- Run our AI systems day to day to scale your SEO output (we will train you on ours)
- Review and refine AI-generated content and optimisations for quality
- Feed back to improve the tools over time
About you
Essential:
- A proven track record in SEO, ideally in ecommerce
- Hands-on experience running paid campaigns (paid search and/or paid social) with a real understanding of ROAS, creative testing and budget management
- Strong on-page SEO and a solid grasp of technical SEO
- Experience with link building and an understanding of domain authority
- You know what ranks in 2026 and keep current with algorithm changes
- Comfortable with the core tools: Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, and the ad platforms (Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads)
- Genuinely comfortable with technology and keen to work hands-on with AI tools and light automation, since running our systems is central to the role
- Self-motivated, organised and confident working independently, with strong ownership of delivery
- Happy to work to a strategy and systems set in-house and run them at scale, rather than needing to build the whole function from scratch
- Able to work from our Hoddesdon office, full time
Nice to have:
- Ecommerce platform experience
- Basic HTML (comfortable editing meta tags, structured data and on-page elements)
- Email marketing experience
- Conversion rate optimisation experience
- Experience growing a local or showroom business through search
What we offer
- Competitive salary plus performance-based bonuses
- Real ownership of our paid media, and of SEO delivery across the group, powered by AI systems built to multiply your output
- A clear focus: you run the work and drive the results, while the strategy and the systems are set up to support you
- A direct line from your work to revenue, you will see the results
- A supportive, family-run company with a genuine sustainability mission
- A real growth path as we scale
Benefits
- Salary: £30,000 (40-hour week) plus performance bonuses
- Hours: 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday
- Holiday: 20 days plus bank holidays plus your birthday off
- Pension scheme
- On-site parking
- Casual dress
- Team-building events
