Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Care Manager to join our reputable homecare organisation working both with adults and children. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Care Manager to ensure the delivery of high-quality care services within a compassionate and professional environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with homecare experience to develop their management and leadership skills while making a positive difference in service users' lives. The Deputy Care Manager will be responsible for supervising staff, overseeing care plans, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Duties

Assist the Care Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the homecare services, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
Supervise and support care staff, fostering a positive team environment and promoting professional development.
Oversee the implementation of personalised care plans tailored to service users’ individual needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care.
Monitor service users’ wellbeing, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity are upheld at all times.
Lead staff training sessions on topics such as medication administration, dementia care, and person-centred approaches.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and CQC standards.
Ensure service users are supported with daily activities and assist in organising engaging programmes that promote independence and quality of life.
Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate effective care provision.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of care services through audits, feedback collection, and implementing best practices.

Qualifications

Strong understanding of care planning processes and regulatory requirements within the UK social care sector.
Experience in medication administration and managing complex health needs such as Alzheimer’s disease.
Previous supervisory or management experience in a homecare setting is highly desirable.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
Compassionate approach combined with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent are preferred; however, ongoing professional development will be supported for suitable candidates.
Good communication skills with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
