The Opportunity
Media Maze is a performance marketing business based in Altrincham with a customer database of over half a million records — and we're only just starting to use it properly.
We're now investing heavily in CRM, customer engagement and marketing automation, and we're looking for an ambitious Digital Marketing Executive to help shape the next stage of that journey.
You'll work alongside experienced marketers, helping deliver email campaigns, customer journeys and CRM initiatives while developing your own skills along the way. You'll be encouraged to bring ideas, learn quickly and take on increasing responsibility as the business continues to grow.
This is an individual contributor role to start with — but as the CRM function develops, there will be a genuine opportunity to build and lead a team around you.

The Role
You'll support the development and delivery of customer lifecycle campaigns across email, SMS and other communication channels, helping improve customer engagement, retention and long-term value from our growing customer database.
You'll work closely with the Head of Marketing Operations, the Head of Digital and our in-house development team to help build automated customer journeys, improve campaign performance and support exciting new customer engagement initiatives.
You'll work across a growing portfolio of consumer brands, with a particular focus on automotive. As the business continues to expand, you'll have the opportunity to support additional products and customer journeys.
Key Responsibilities
Email Marketing & Campaign Delivery
- Plan and deliver email and SMS campaigns across multiple brands.
- Develop and maintain campaign calendars.
- Write or coordinate engaging campaign copy.
- Work with designers and developers to deliver high-quality campaigns.
- Help ensure campaigns are delivered accurately and on schedule.
CRM & Customer Journey Development
- Support the creation of automated customer journeys.
- Assist with audience segmentation and personalised communications.
- Help develop nurture, retention and re-engagement campaigns.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer engagement across the database.
Commercial Performance
- Support initiatives that improve customer engagement and commercial performance.
- Learn how CRM activity contributes to wider business growth.
- Develop an understanding of customer behaviour and campaign performance.
Data & Reporting
- Monitor campaign performance including opens, clicks and conversions.
- Use campaign data to recommend practical improvements.
- Maintain good database hygiene and CRM best practice.

Technology
You'll gain exposure to a modern marketing technology stack including email marketing platforms, CRM systems, customer data tools and marketing automation software.
Current platforms include:
- Mailchimp and SendGrid
- LeadByte
- Meta Ads and Google Ads
We don't expect you to know every platform already. Full training will be provided, and we're looking for someone who's eager to learn and develop.
You'll also have the opportunity to work alongside our in-house development team as we continue building our own customer intelligence and marketing platform. If you're interested in CRM, automation and using data to improve customer journeys, you'll gain experience that many larger businesses simply can't offer.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Some experience in digital marketing, email marketing or CRM, either in a dedicated role or as part of a wider marketing position.
- A genuine interest in customer engagement and lifecycle marketing.
- Curious about marketing performance and interested in understanding why campaigns succeed.
- Strong written communication and copywriting skills.
- Comfortable using campaign data to improve future marketing activity.
- Organised, proactive and able to manage your own workload.
- Awareness of GDPR principles relating to customer marketing data, with a willingness to continue learning.
Desirable
- Experience using email marketing or marketing automation platforms.
- Exposure to CRM systems and customer segmentation.
- Experience with SMS marketing.
- Understanding of wider digital marketing channels.
- Experience within lead generation or other customer acquisition businesses.
No automotive experience is required. We welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in e-commerce, retail, subscription businesses, travel, fintech or any customer-focused, data-driven industry.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 12 months you will:
- Develop a strong understanding of our brands, products and customer database.
- Confidently manage email and SMS campaigns across multiple brands.
- Help build automated customer journeys and lifecycle campaigns.
- Use campaign data to continually improve marketing performance.
- Take increasing ownership of CRM activity as your experience grows.
- Be growing into a more senior, commercially accountable role within the CRM function.
