We are a partnership of local health and care organisations working together to improve the health, wellbeing and care of people living in Norfolk and Waveney.
Our partnership includes local GP practices, hospitals, community care, social services and mental health teams, and together we provide services to more than a million people.
Our Goals
Over and above everything else we want to achieve as a partnership, we’ve set ourselves three goals:
- To make sure that people can live as healthy a life as possible. This means preventing avoidable illness and tackling the root causes of poor health. We know the health and wellbeing of people living in some parts of Norfolk and Waveney is significantly poorer – how healthy you are should not depend on where you live. This is something we must change.
- To make sure that you only have to tell your story once.Too often people have to explain to different health and care professionals what has happened in their lives, why they need help, the health conditions they have and which medication they are on. Services have to work better together.

Are you an experienced mental health practitioner looking for a new challenge? If so, we would love for you to join us in supporting children, young people and families known to Suffolk Youth Justice!
The base for this role can be either West Suffolk House (Bury St Edmunds) or Constantine House (Ipswich) depending on candidate preference.
Children involved in the Justice system have often experienced life events and circumstances which detrimentally affect their mental health; the prevalence of mental health need amongst Justice involved children tends to be higher than the general population, and early intervention is key. We are seeking a pro-active, passionate and experienced mental health practitioner to work within the West/East Suffolk Youth Justice team, to provide consultation, training and direct work to meet this need.

Key Responsibilities:
- Providing consultation to SYJS practitioners where mental health concerns are identified for children and young people open to the service. Consider young peoples’ presenting mental health needs and the most suitable response.
- Provide advice and guidance to the SYJS practitioner for working with a young person presenting with emotional wellbeing or mental health needs.
- Undertaking direct assessments with children, young people and their families. Determining appropriate treatment response plans, whether that be a time-limited intervention the post holder delivers (typically limited to 12 weeks) or consider the most suitable onwards service to meet the young person’s needs
- Supporting the SYJS team through the provision of training and development opportunities.
Key Service Aims
- To ensure that vulnerable children aged 0-18 years experiencing emotional or mental health problems have access to timely, integrated, high quality, support from a mental health professional and/or access to suitable referral pathways to specialist mental health assessment, treatment and support for them and their families.
- Assessment for those with mild-moderate mental health difficulties based upon an outline of concerns identified by Suffolk Youth Justice Service practitioner and in collaboration with the young person and their family/carer network.

You’ll be hard pressed to find a place with more independents Independent shops, food producers, restaurants, cafés, salons and more. With over 90 miles of coast that start at in the west at The Wash that borders with Lincolnshire and curves round along the northern and eastern boundaries to Great Yarmouth. To the south, Norfolk borders with Suffolk and to the west Cambridgeshire.
As well as having a long coastline, Norfolk is famous for the Broads. The Norfolk Broads are a National Park with over 125 miles of navigable waterways, home to great and diverse wildlife and many tourists in the summer months!
The only city in Norfolk is Norwich, a medieval city with great music, arts and culture scenes as well as being a popular spot for shopping. Charming coastal and market towns and villages spot the landscape, including Sandringham – the country retreat of Her Majesty the Queen!
