Job Summary
The Waddington Arms is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team. This role involves supporting the kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring the smooth running of daily culinary activities. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in hospitality and food service, with a strong work ethic and a passion for delivering excellent standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a busy restaurant environment and develop culinary skills.

Responsibilities

Assist with basic food preparation and cooking tasks under the supervision of chefs
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils
Support the organisation of kitchen supplies and ensure stock levels are maintained
Help with the safe handling and disposal of waste materials in accordance with health and safety regulations
Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, functional, and stored correctly
Support serving staff during busy periods by providing necessary assistance as required
Follow all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all staff members

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and kitchen hygiene standards is advantageous
Good organisational skills with an ability to work efficiently under pressure
A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within a fast-paced setting
Strong team player with excellent communication skills
Previous experience in serving or hospitality roles is beneficial but not mandatory
