he Children’s Residential Support Worker at James Dixon House plays a vital role in supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. The home provides a safe environment for young people who have experienced adversity, emotional distress, and disrupted attachments. The post holder will work directly with young people to promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and resilience, helping them feel safe, understood, and supported. The role requires consistency, empathy, and the ability to respond calmly to challenging behaviour while maintaining clear boundaries and expectations. Support Workers will work in line with safeguarding legislation, organisational policies, and therapeutic approaches, contributing to a structured and nurturing environment. The role operates on a Rota basis, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins. Driver essential to the job.

ctively safeguard young people by following safeguarding procedures and reporting concerns appropriately.
ontribute to care plans, risk assessments, and reviews, ensuring each young person’s needs and progress are accurately reflected.
aintain clear, accurate daily records, incident reports, and handovers.
ork collaboratively with colleagues, managers, therapists and external professionals such as schools, and social workers.
phold the values and ethos of James Dixon House, promoting respect, inclusion, and emotional safety.
ngage in training, supervision, and reflective practice to continuously develop skills and understanding to provide the best support for our young people.

ust have NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care.
