We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Social Media Director to lead our online presence on a self-employed basis. This is a two-year contract role that combines onsite and remote work, with travel required to various locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in public relations and social media management, with a proven track record of developing engaging digital content and fostering positive brand reputation. We are looking for a Social Media Director to lead content creation across all our business and family channels. This is a hands‑on creative role requiring confidence in every stage of content creation — filming, photography, editing, and posting.
This is a 2‑year self‑employed contract, offering stability while ensuring long‑term creative direction and consistency.
This role follows a Hybrid Editing Structure to support fast‑paced, high‑quality content production:
1. Onsite (10 hours weekly)
Two agreed filming days dedicated to:
- Filming high‑quality video content
- Conducting photoshoots
- Capturing behind‑the‑scenes and lifestyle content
- Producing rough cuts and immediate edits
- Working across multiple brands and family channels
- Travelling at short notice for shoots, events, and business activities
2. Remote (Flexible)
Outside of onsite filming, you will:
- Complete final edits
- Prepare content for posting
- Create graphics and branded visuals
- Write captions and hooks
- Manage posting schedules
- Analyse performance and plan content calendars.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Responsible For
You must be confident doing ALL of the following — this is a full‑scope creative role:
- Videography
- Photography
- Video editing (short‑form + long‑form)
- Content creation
- Graphic design basics
- Posting and scheduling
- Social media strategy
- Trend research
- Storytelling and brand voice
Hybrid Payment Model
This role uses a Hybrid Payment Structure designed for consistency, flexibility, and performance:
Monthly Retainer
- £300–£500 per month Covers:
- Weekly onsite commitment
- Availability
- Consistency
- Travel flexibility
Per‑Project Payments
- £50–£100 per edited video
- £150 per photoshoot
Performance Bonuses
- Bonuses for growth milestones
- Bonuses for high‑performing content
Brand Deal Commission
- 10% of brand deals you help secure
Travel Expenses
