What we offer

£900–£1,300 per week + £50 weekly food allowance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Female Live-in Carer to support female adults with complex neurological needs living at home. (Spinal Cord / Brain Injury)

The role focuses on promoting independence, maintaining safety, supporting daily routines, and enabling meaningful community access. You will also provide behavioural support and companionship to enhance quality of life.

You will need a good understanding of Autonomic Dysreflexia (AD) and experience supporting individuals who may present with behaviours that challenge. A calm, consistent and person-centred approach is essential.

Key responsibilities

Support daily routines, structure and independence
Promote community access, including attending appointments and social activities
Recognise and respond to Autonomic Dysreflexia in line with care plans
Provide behavioural support using positive and least-restrictive approaches
Drive and accompany the client to activities and appointments (including use of adapted vehicles where required)
Assist with light household duties, meal preparation and hydration support
Support with pet care (e.g. feeding, walking, vet visits)
Monitor wellbeing and report changes to the wider care team
Maintain accurate digital records and follow reporting procedures
Work in line with safeguarding, confidentiality (UK GDPR) and health & safety standards

Essential experience & skills

Experience supporting individuals with spinal cord injury and/or brain injury
Understanding of Autonomic Dysreflexia and confidence in responding appropriately
Experience managing or supporting challenging behaviour using calm, structured approaches
Willingness to provide personal care where required, including bowel/bladder management
Confident driver with a clean UK licence; comfortable driving regularly (including WAVs)
Comfortable working around pets (dogs/cats)
Strong communication and record-keeping skills
Reliable, professional and compassionate approach

Desirable

Experience with delegated clinical tasks (e.g. bowel/bladder care, skin integrity monitoring)
Experience working alongside a multi-disciplinary team
First Aid/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
