Full job description

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient English Teacher to join our team at Just Learn, an alternative provision supporting students who require a different approach to education.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people who may have experienced barriers to learning in mainstream education. Our learners benefit from small class sizes, adaptive teaching methods and an inclusive environment designed to help them re-engage with education and achieve their potential.

The successful candidate will:

* Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4.

* Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of learners, many of whom may have SEN, SEMH needs or gaps in learning.

* Build positive and supportive relationships with students to promote confidence, resilience and engagement.

* Monitor progress and provide feedback to support academic development.

* Work collaboratively with colleagues and pastoral staff to support student wellbeing and behaviour.

We are looking for someone who:

* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or has been working as an unqualified teacher or has relevant teaching qualification.

* Has experience teaching English at secondary level.

* Has experience or interest in working with students with additional needs, behavioural challenges or within alternative provision.

* Demonstrates patience, empathy and strong behaviour management skills.

* Is committed to supporting students to achieve both academically and personally.
