Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Housekeeper to oversee the cleanliness and organisation of our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a background in commercial cleaning, janitorial services, or hospital environments. This role involves managing cleaning staff, ensuring high standards of hygiene are maintained, and coordinating daily operations to support a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. The Head Housekeeper will play a vital role in maintaining the organisation’s reputation for cleanliness and professionalism.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of cleaning staff to ensure efficient operations.
Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures aligned with organisational standards.
Conduct regular inspections of premises to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Train new staff on cleaning protocols, safety procedures, and organisational policies.
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
Collaborate with management to address any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, staff performance, and equipment maintenance.
Foster a team-oriented environment that encourages high standards of cleanliness and professionalism.

Qualifications

Proven experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial services, or hospital housekeeping roles.
Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial position within the cleaning industry is highly desirable.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene.
Good communication skills and the ability to lead a team effectively.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to cleaning operations.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision whilst managing a team effectively.
