We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician (Part-time) to join our Primary Care team at HMP Long Lartin, a category A Prison located in Littleton.

HMP Long Lartin is a male prison serving life sentences with a capacity for 690 inmates.

Hours

23 hours per week, working 2 x 11.5 hour shifts. Set rota over 8 weeks. Shift patterns would be a mixture of days and 1 weekend a month on a rota basis.

Training offered around Vaccines, Phlebotomy, ECG, CPPE Primary Care Pathway, Podiatry

Salary

This position is part time, you’ll receive an annual salary between £29,264 - £33,510 FTE, depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will

Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them. Focussing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards. Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
General GCSE education or equivalent
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Training available
