ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

Do you have experience supporting students with SEN? Harris Academy Greenwich is seeking to appoint an exceptional, experienced Assistant SENCO to cover maternity leave.

This is a non-teaching position. The actual salary will be £39,744.13 (37.5 hours per week, 42 weeks per year).

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The purpose of your role will be:

To support the SENDCo in providing professional leadership and management to remove barriers to learning where they exist for students with SEND.
To provide professional guidance on SEND to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies and assuming delegated responsibilities in negotiation with the SENDCo.
To support the academic progress of students with SEND through small group or 1:1 interventions.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We would like to hear from you if you have:

Knowledge and understanding of national priorities, current curriculum development and an ability to design and implement an innovate curriculum based on students’ needs
A thorough understanding of quality assurance techniques
An appreciation of student motivation
An understanding of how professional development contributes to the raising of quality
SEN experience in a secondary school
Evidence of pastoral experience
Experience of working with key stakeholders such as parents, governors, employers etc
