Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter & Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for craftsmanship and a keen eye for colour and design. Applicants should be organised, punctual, and capable of working independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines.

Duties

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming prior to painting or decorating
Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality and safety standards are maintained
Assist in the planning and execution of decorating projects from start to finish
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste appropriately
Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and any issues that arise
Follow instructions accurately and adapt techniques as required for different surfaces and materials

Skills

Proven experience in construction painting and decorating
Strong knowledge of colour schemes, finishes, and decorating techniques
Good communication skills in English to liaise with clients and team members effectively
Ability to operate relevant tools and equipment safely and efficiently
Driving licence is desirable for travel between sites
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Attention to detail to ensure precision in all aspects of decorating work
