Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support the daily operations of our kitchen, assisting with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in catering, culinary arts, and restaurant operations within a professional setting.

Duties

Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
Support cooking activities under the supervision of senior kitchen staff
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed during food handling and preparation
Help with cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
Serve meals to customers or staff in a courteous and efficient manner
Organise ingredients and supplies to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Assist in setting up dining areas for service and clearing after meals
Support catering events by preparing ingredients and assisting with event-specific tasks

Qualifications

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous
Basic cooking skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude towards colleagues and customers
Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions accurately
