Full job description

Job Title:

Maintenance Person

Purpose of Position:

To to take responsibility (individually or jointly with the Manager of the Home) to secure, sustain and promote the reputation of the Home for the benefit of Residents, and to set and maintain high standards of professional practice in order to create a pleasant safe environment.

Internal and External Contacts:

Care Home Manager

Deputy Manager

House-Keeper

Laundry Assistant

All other employees within the Home

External:

Residents

Residents family & friends

Responsibilities:

Be responsible for maintenance and general tidiness of the areas surrounding The Home and sweeping up of any debris each morning.
Be responsible for the removal of all waste to the bin areas and keeping this area tidy and clean.
Be responsible for all minor maintenance jobs within The Home as indicated by the Owners / Manager.
Be responsible for all maintenance of grounds including grass cutting, weeding and pruning.
Maintain all aspects within Maintenance folder.
Have knowledge regarding the maintenance and dates of inspection of equipment e.g. Fire Alarm system, Nurse Call system and Lift Servicing and recording details in Maintenance Records.
Fetch messages as indicated by Owners / Manager.
Attend service training meetings as appropriate.
Assist with deliveries.
Maintain monthly inventory of furniture, fittings and to notify the Owners / Manager if replacements are needed.
Run general errands as needed.
Decorating as requested by Manager.
Any reasonable request by the Manager or Management Team.

Selection Criteria: Education/Training;

Health and Safety; working at heights, electricity regulations, working with power tools and garden equipment, COSHH, etc.

Experience:

Full clean valid driving licence

Skills/Competence:

Communication; Good command of verbal and written English.

Planning and Organisational; able to plan own workload to meet defined maintenance schedules.

Team-working; able to take and follow instructions.

Attention to Detail/Quality Focused
