Overview

We are seeking a friendly and responsible Lunchtime Assistant to support our nursery children over the lunch time period. This role involves supervising children, ensuring their safety, and creating a positive environment for children to enjoy their lunch period. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and possess excellent organisational and communication skills. Previous experience in childcare, teaching, nannying, or similar roles is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Supervise children during lunchtime, helping and supporting them with their lunch
Engage with children in interactions to promote social interaction and enjoyment
Maintain a clean and tidy dining area before, during, and after lunch service
Support children with behavioural or emotional needs as required
Ensure the safety of all children at all times, responding promptly to any incidents or concerns
Collaborate with nursery practitioners and other assistants to ensure smooth lunchtime operations

Requirements

Experience in childcare, teaching, nannying, or similar roles
Ability to work effectively with children of different ages and backgrounds
Good communication skills in English
Organised, patient, and friendly demeanour with a genuine interest in supporting children's wellbeing
Ability to work during nutsery hours, primarily around midday periods
A proactive attitude towards maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all students
Full DBS

Pay: £12.21-£12.80 per hour
