Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy nursery manager/Room Leader to support the management and organisation of our early childhood education setting. The successful candidate will assist in overseeing daily activities, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about childcare and early years education to develop their management and leadership skills within a supportive team. The Deputy <PERSON>/Room Leader will be responsible for maintaining high standards of care and education, working closely with the senior team to implement policies and procedures effectively.

Responsibilities

Support the Room Leader in planning and delivering engaging educational activities tailored to children's developmental needs
Supervise and motivate staff members to ensure smooth daily operations within the nursery
Foster a warm, welcoming environment that promotes children's well-being, safety, and learning
Assist in monitoring children's progress and maintaining accurate records of development and behaviour
Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, health and safety regulations, and nursery standards
Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and team members regarding children's progress and nursery activities
Contribute to the organisation of staff rotas, training sessions, and team meetings
Support the implementation of early childhood education frameworks and best practices
Lead by example in demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for working with children

Experience

Proven management or leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
Extensive working knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations
Experience working directly with children, ideally within a nursery or preschool environment
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Previous experience in childcare roles such as nursery assistant or practitioner is desirable
Valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting resources or attending external meetings or training sessions
