About the Role
J&T Express UK is seeking a Transport Operations Coordinator to support the daily management and execution of linehaul and transportation operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for transport planning, real-time operational coordination, carrier management and service performance monitoring to ensure efficient and reliable parcel movement across the UK network.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in parcel delivery, logistics, linehaul transportation or distribution operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesTransport Planning & Coordination
- Receive and coordinate transportation requirements from operational hubs, depots and planning teams.
- Develop daily and weekly transportation schedules based on shipment volumes, network requirements and carrier capacity.
- Allocate transport resources and coordinate vehicle utilisation to maximise operational efficiency.
- Ensure transport routes, loading schedules and delivery timelines are effectively planned and communicated.
Real-Time Transport Dispatch & Monitoring
- Monitor transport operations through GPS tracking systems, transport management systems and operational dashboards.
- Track vehicle movements and transport task execution to ensure service commitments are achieved.
- Respond promptly to operational disruptions, including traffic delays, vehicle breakdowns, service failures and shipment exceptions.
- Implement contingency plans and coordinate corrective actions to minimise operational impact.
Stakeholder & Carrier Management
- Act as the key point of contact between planning teams, operational sites, transport providers and drivers.
- Communicate transport schedules, operational updates and exception management actions.
- Coordinate with carriers and service providers to resolve operational issues and maintain service quality.
- Support the development of strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Performance & Service Quality Management
- Monitor transport KPIs including service performance, on-time delivery, transport completion rates and exception levels.
- Analyse operational data and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Support carrier performance reviews and assist with service quality management.
- Prepare reports relating to transportation performance and operational efficiency.
Peak Operations & Exception Management
- Support network peak season planning and execution.
- Coordinate operational responses during peak periods and major service disruptions.
- Assist with cross-functional operational projects and business continuity activities.
Requirements
- Previous experience in logistics, parcel delivery, transportation operations or linehaul dispatch.
- Strong coordination and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced operational environment.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and responding to real-time operational issues.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Good analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and operational systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including night shifts and weekends where required.
Preferred Experience
- Experience within DHL, DPD, Evri (Hermes), Amazon Logistics, Royal Mail, Yodel or similar logistics organisations.
- Experience working with transport management systems (TMS) and GPS tracking platforms.
- Experience managing third-party transport providers and carrier performance.
- Knowledge of UK transportation and parcel delivery operations.

Pay: £30,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
