Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a keen interest in hospitality and food service. This role involves supporting daily café operations, ensuring a welcoming environment, and assisting with food and beverage preparation. Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Duties

Welcome customers warmly and take their orders efficiently
Serve food and beverages in a courteous and professional manner
Assist with food preparation and presentation to ensure quality standards are met
Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, and kitchen stations
Restock supplies and ensure all areas are well-organised throughout the shift
Follow food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the till system
Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth service flow

Requirements

Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is preferred but not essential as training will be provided
Barista experience is a plus but not mandatory
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is desirable
Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if required
A positive attitude with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction
