Accounts Assistant (Purchase Ledger)

Head Office - outskirts of Brighton (BN1 8AP) - please note this is a fully office based role

37.5 hours per week

Salary - £24,885.00

Established over 70 years ago, at Capital (Hair & Beauty) Ltd we are a family business with over 60 stores throughout the UK and Ireland; along with a very successful website this makes us the largest independent wholesale supplier to the professional hair & beauty industry in the UK.

Supplying cutting edge brands such as L’Oréal, Wella, Goldwell, Schwarzkopf, Olaplex and many more, makes us a one stop shop for the industry.

Role Profile

We’re seeking an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join our small friendly team at our Head Office, which is based just on the outskirts of Brighton. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll be working within our finance team on purchase ledger tasks such as reconciliations, cash matching, processing invoices and resolving queries. Other duties include:

Match invoices against goods received and forward any price queries to the relevant team
Carry our supplier reconciliations on a monthly basis and provide a statement to suppliers
Maintain filing of electronic statements
Review outstanding invoices on a regular basis and carry out work to resolve queries

This list isn’t exhaustive and we expect you to be a team player who will get involved in other elements of the business if required.

To be successful in the role you will have:

Great problem-solving skills
Good excel and numeracy skills
Good communication skills
