Full job description

Pennells Garden Centre is looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Baker to join our busy restaurant team.

If you have a passion for baking, take pride in producing high-quality homemade goods, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Working Hours

Monday: 8:00am – 3:00pm
Wednesday: 8:00am – 3:00pm
Friday: 8:00am – 3:00pm
Sunday: 9:00am – 4:00pm

Total: 28 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and bake a range of fresh cakes, scones, traybakes, pastries, and other bakery items.
Ensure products are consistently presented to a high standard.
Maintain excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards.
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients.
Keep the bakery area clean, organised, and compliant with food safety regulations.
Work closely with the restaurant team to ensure products are available throughout the day.

About You

Previous baking experience is preferred, either in a commercial or professional setting.
Passionate about producing high-quality baked goods.
Able to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
Reliable, punctual, and well organised.
Holds a good understanding of food hygiene practices (Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not essential).
Be willing to work in other areas of the restaurant as required.
