About Guthrie Roberts
Guthrie Roberts Ltd is a growing property development company based in Malvern, Worcestershire. We are currently undertaking several large-scale projects across the Worcestershire area.
We are looking for an experienced, highly organised and proactive Executive Assistant to support the Director across all aspects of the business, with particular responsibility for acquisitions, business and project planning, sales and marketing.
The role will also involve working on a number of exciting special projects, including an affiliated property venture in the wellness sector and support for a new specialist education project.
This is a diverse and varied role that requires excellent organisation, the ability to manage multiple priorities, confidence communicating with a wide range of contacts and the ability to work independently on important tasks.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain broad exposure to property development and work closely with the Director across a growing portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Property Development
- Work closely with the Director to ensure projects run smoothly from acquisition through to completion.
- Assist with financial forecasting for future projects.
- Assist with financial planning and monitoring of current projects.
- Research current property market trends to support acquisitions and sales.
- Assist the Director with design and project-related queries, undertaking further research where required.
- Liaise with solicitors, agents and other professionals to support the smooth progression of property sales.
- Communicate with the design team, including architects, engineers and interior designers, as well as the planning authority where required.
- Arrange and manage insurance requirements for sites under development.
- Communicate with the appropriate agencies regarding business rates and Council Tax, including Malvern Hills District Council (MHDC) and the Valuation Office Agency (VOA), including appeals where required.
Business & Administration
- Assist with the day-to-day organisation and administration of the company.
- Act as a key point of contact for the company across a broad range of operations, on behalf of the Director.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, contractors, architects, consultants, staff and other construction and property professionals.
- Undertake specific research projects and provide findings to support business decisions.
- Draft and issue company updates to investors, partners and other stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Director, Business Manager and Operations Manager on a range of company activities.
- Undertake other duties and special projects as required to support the continued development of the business.
Marketing & Communications
- Manage marketing and PR activity across the business.
- Commission brochures, advertising materials and other marketing collateral.
- Work with external PR and marketing consultants to coordinate campaigns and communications.
- Assist with website updates and digital content where required.
About You
We are looking for someone who is proactive, commercially minded and highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the confidence to take ownership of tasks.
You will be comfortable working independently while also being a strong team player, and will be able to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
Essential
- Degree or equivalent professional experience demonstrating strong problem-solving, numeracy, analytical and organisational skills. Relevant disciplines could include mathematics, physics, engineering, economics, business, finance or property.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and take responsibility for important tasks.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
Desirable
- Knowledge or experience of construction, property development or real estate.
- Experience with financial planning, forecasting or data analysis
- Experience working within a start-up or growing business environment.
- Experience of website editing or content management systems.
- Previous experience in an Executive Assistant role.
Hours & Salary
Hours: 28–32 hours per week, spread across a four-day, office-based working week.
Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum pro rata, depending on experience and suitability for the role.
There is also the possibility of a full-time position for the right candidate, should this be appropriate for both the candidate and the business.
