Job Description:

CDH Facilities Management are looking to bring in an experienced Fire Door Installer & Inspector to support ongoing and upcoming works across residential, commercial, student accommodation and public sector environments.

This is for a price work role / subcontractor position paid per job, with the potential opportunity for a full-time permanent role available for the right candidate as the business continues to grow.

We are looking for somebody reliable, competent and professional, with a strong understanding of fire door compliance and the ability to consistently work to a high standard without constant supervision.

The Role:

You will be responsible for:

Installation of fire doors and associated ironmongery
Remedial works and maintenance to existing fire doors
Ensuring all works comply with current fire safety legislation and British Standards
Completing clear documentation and photographic evidence of completed works
Communicating professionally with clients, residents and site teams
Working across a range of residential, commercial and student accommodation environments

The role will involve travelling to various sites, therefore flexibility and willingness to travel is essential.

Essential Requirements:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in fire door installation, maintenance or inspection
Proven experience fitting fire doors to a high standard
Good understanding of passive fire protection
Knowledge of relevant standards including BS 8214 and current fire safety regulations
FireQual, NOCN, FIRAS, BM TRADA or equivalent recognised fire door qualification/training
Full UK driving licence
Own tools and transport/van
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

Desirable:

Fire door inspection experience
FIRAS or BM TRADA related experience
CSCS card
DBS check
Experience working within social housing, student accommodation or commercial environments
