Senior Bar Supervisor

Full-time | Permanent | Lisburn

Job Title: Senior Bar Supervisor

Reports to: Club Manager

Location: Based at Lisburn Golf Club

Hours of Work: 40 Hours per week (flexible, based on club needs)

Salary: Competitive salary, (Dependent on Experience)

The Role:

Lisburn Golf Club is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Bar Supervisor to support the effective day-to-day running of the Club’s bar operations. This is a key role within the Club, responsible for maintaining high standards of customer service, supporting and supervising bar staff, and ensuring the bar is well-presented, fully stocked and prepared for regular service, events and functions.

The successful candidate will be hands-on, organised and customer-focused, with strong supervisory experience and the ability to lead by example in a busy hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Oversee the day-to-day running of the bar, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, cleanliness, presentation and readiness for service.

· Maintain high standards of customer service for members, guests and visitors, responding to queries or concerns appropriately.

· Assist with staff rotas and provide on-the-job training in customer service, product knowledge, responsible service of alcohol, till use and bar procedures.

· Manage stock ordering, deliveries, rotation, storage and stock checks to ensure appropriate stock levels and minimise wastage.

· Follow cash handling, till reconciliation and financial procedures accurately, reporting any issues promptly.

· Ensure bar products, equipment and work areas are maintained in line with hygiene, licensing, health and safety and Club requirements.

· Support the planning and delivery of club events, private functions, promotional activities and competition days.

· Promote and uphold Club policies and procedures, including health and safety, food hygiene, licensing, equality, dignity at work and customer care standards.

· Identify opportunities to improve service, efficiency, product range, promotions and the overall member and guest experience.

Essential Criteria

Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in a supervisory or management role within a bar, pub, restaurant, or hospitality venue.
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above preferred).
Experience in stock control, ordering, and inventory management.
Experience handling cash, banking procedures, and end-of-day reconciliation.
Knowledge of licensing regulations and responsible alcohol service.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, public holidays and additional hours as required to meet the needs of the Club.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally with members, guests, visitors and colleagues.

· Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage busy service periods and respond flexibly to operational needs.

Desirable Criteria

· Previous experience in a golf club, private members’ club or event/function environment.

· Relevant health and safety, first aid or hospitality-related training.

· Experience organising events or promotions.

· Good working knowledge of cocktails and wider beverage services

· Knowledge of wines, beers and spirits, with relevant certifications
