Our structured training is designed to help ambitious individuals build a long-term career within the vehicle recovery industry.
Starting with light recovery vehicles and transporters, you'll develop the skills, knowledge and experience needed to progress through the industry. For those who demonstrate commitment, professionalism and a desire to develop, opportunities may exist to progress onto larger recovery vehicles and ultimately HGV and articulated vehicle operations.
We are looking for candidates who aspire to achieve Category C and CE licences as part of their long-term career goals. Whether through company-supported development opportunities or personal investment in their future, a genuine desire to progress is essential.
This role is ideal for someone who sees recovery as a profession rather than simply a driving job.
The Reality of Recovery Work
We believe in being completely honest about the role.
Vehicle recovery is an emergency service industry that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
This means the job can be physically and mentally demanding. You'll attend customers who may be stressed, upset, frustrated or stranded. You'll work in rain, wind, cold weather and occasionally challenging roadside environments.
You may be helping a family broken down on a motorway in heavy rain, assisting a stranded driver late at night, or recovering vehicles following accidents.
This role is not for the faint-hearted.
Recovery drivers often work when others would rather be at home. It takes resilience, patience, professionalism and a genuine desire to help people.
However, for the right person, it is one of the most rewarding careers in the transport industry. You'll develop specialist skills, enjoy enormous variety in your work and gain the satisfaction of helping people during difficult situations.
What We're Looking For
We're much more interested in attitude than previous recovery experience.
You will:
- Hold a full UK car driving licence (held for a minimum of 3 years)
- Enjoy helping people and delivering excellent customer service
- Remain calm under pressure
- Be comfortable working independently
- Be willing to work shifts, weekends and varying hours
- Have a positive, can-do attitude
- Have ambitions to build a career within the recovery industry
- Aspire to progress onto larger recovery vehicles and HGV operations in the future
- Be resilient and capable of working in all weather conditions
Previous recovery experience is not required as full training will be provided.
What You'll Be Doing
As your training progresses, you'll learn to:
- Attend roadside breakdowns and recoveries
- Safely load and transport vehicles
- Support customers in difficult situations
- Operate a range of specialist recovery vehicles
- Carry out local and nationwide recoveries
- Make informed decisions while working independently
- Deliver exceptional customer service at every stage
No two days are ever the same.
SHIFTS:
Four days on two days off, shift rotates to the next start period after every two days off. 07.00 to 18.00 alternating with 14.00 to 01.00
