Full job description

This role is to support the smooth co-ordination of patient care through an administrative role at Hanley, Bucknall & Bentilee Primary Care Network

The role of the Administrative Assistant (Temporary) is to support the clinical team to make sure we deliver the best possible care and experience for our patients.

Successful candidates will need to be comfortable with a flexible approach to tasks and problem solving. You will work alongside the existing admin team carrying out duties relating to patient care.

You will primarily manage booking patient appointments into our clinical team calendars, by outgoing phone calls, and managing self-booking uptake from patients online.

Contracted hours and working pattern are flexible within a Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00 framework.

Main duties of the job

The Administrative Assistant (Temporary) will be responsible for coordinating patient appointments and leading on patient administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Confident, professional, and caring telephone manner making patient facing calls.

Create and complete spreadsheets.

Run and report back on patient searches.

Validating registers.

Supporting specific patient projects such as the organisation of vaccination clinics.

Booking in patients for specific health reviews

Signpost team members, service users and carers to relevant services including the PCN Social Prescribing Link Worker Service.

Record Keeping.

Keep accurate and up-to-date records of contact with patients, carers and professionals, including use of Emis medical system to record patient contact on the medical record.

Work as part of the team to seek feedback, continually improve the service and contribute to business planning.

Undertake any tasks consistent with the level of the post and the scope of the role, ensuring that work is delivered in a timely and effective manner.

Attend ongoing training and courses to keep abreast of new developments in health care.

Treat patients with empathy and respect and conduct oneself in a professional manner.

Attend and contribute to relevant meetings.

Duties may vary from time to time, without changing the general character of the post or the level of responsibility.

NVQ Level 3, Advanced level or equivalent qualifications or working towards.
Training in motivational coaching and interviewing or equivalent experience.
