Position Summary
Reporting to the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager, we are looking to recruit a pro-active Health, Safety and Environmental Assistant to support our commitment to deliver improvements in our sites Health, Safety and Environmental performance and culture.
Responsibilities

· Conducting health, safety and environmental inspections, identifying hazards, recommending suitable corrective actions and ensuring actions are closed within agreed timescales.
· Supporting the site risk assessment review programme.
· Assist in developing and implementing health and safety procedures.
· Auditing of the site permit to work and lock out tag out systems.
· Auditing forklift truck operations.
· Review and completion of COSHH assessments.
· Auditing compliance with current standard operating procedures.
· Supporting site HSE inductions for new employees and contractors.
· Updating HSE noticeboards.
· HSE related data analysis and reporting.
· Participate in focussed problem solving activities.
· Maintain accurate records and documentation
Qualifications, Skills & Experience

a) Must have Experience.
o NEBOSH National General Certificate In Occupational Health and Safety or NVQ Level 3 Certificate In Occupational Health and Safety or currently working towards.
o Experience in a manufacturing / warehouse environment.
o Awareness of Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation
o Strong organisational and communication skills.
o A positive and collaborative approach.
o Proficient in IT systems and Microsoft Office software.
b) Desirable Experience
o Knowledge of permit to work systems would be an advantage.
o SEMA racking inspection qualification.
o Food Manufacturing background.

Pay: £30,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
