Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of equipment and machinery to ensure optimal operational performance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance. The ideal applicant will possess a proactive attitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimise downtime.
Diagnose faults using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
Repair or replace faulty components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
Perform heavy lifting as required to move parts or equipment safely.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
Assist with installation of new machinery or equipment upgrades.
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies.
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with colleagues and clients regarding repair status or technical issues.

Requirements

Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar role with strong mechanical knowledge.
Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly procedures.
Knowledge of equipment repair, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Good communication skills for liaising with team members and clients.
Relevant qualifications or certifications in mechanical engineering or related fields are desirable but not essential.
