Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Welsh Medium Playworker Manager to oversee and coordinate play activities at the afterschool club based at Ysgol Pwll Coch. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of playworkers, ensuring engaging and educational play sessions for children in a Welsh-speaking environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to promote bilingual development whilst fostering a safe, inclusive, and stimulating atmosphere for young learners. The ideal applicant will have experience in childcare, teaching, or nannying, with a passion for supporting children's development through play.

Duties

Lead and manage a team of playworkers to deliver high-quality Welsh-medium play activities
Plan, organise, and supervise daily play sessions in accordance with organisational guidelines and child development best practices
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children during activities, adhering to safeguarding policies
Foster a bilingual environment by incorporating Welsh language into all activities and interactions
Liaise with parents and carers to provide updates on children's progress and address any concerns
Maintain accurate records of attendance, activities, and incident reports
Support the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of playworkers to ensure team effectiveness
Promote inclusive practices that respect diversity and encourage participation from all children

Skills

Proven experience in childcare, teaching, nannying or related roles with a focus on early childhood development
Fluency in Welsh is essential
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan engaging activities suitable for various age groups
Good communication skills to liaise confidently with children, parents, colleagues, and external partners
A genuine passion for working with children and supporting bilingual education programmes
Ability to work flexibly within scheduled hours while maintaining professionalism and enthusiasm

Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
