The Role:

As Sous Chef, you’ll be the right hand to our Head Chef — helping manage daily operations, motivating the team, and maintaining our high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene. You’ll lead by example and help shape our evolving menus, ensuring every dish delivers the Forage experience our guests expect.

Key Responsibilities:

Report to the Head Chef as one of his senior assistants
Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef
Lead and motivate kitchen staff, ensuring smooth service across all shifts
Ensure consistent quality and presentation of dishes
Maintain high levels of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety compliance
Collaborate on menu planning and seasonal dish development
Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen team members
Assist the head chef with any administrative tasks, such as, but not limited to: stock control, building rotas, managing costs.

About You:

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong CDP ready to step up
Passionate about local, seasonal cooking
Confident in a fast-paced kitchen with high standards
Strong communication and leadership skills
Reliable, proactive, and a positive team player
Available for weekend shifts and evening service (Fri/Sat only)
