Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our team in a small residential care home. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and safety, with a flair for creating delicious meals in a kitchen environment. As a Chef, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of excellence while helping to develop new menu items for our residents and maintain the overall quality of the food cooked.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to within the kitchen.
Assist in menu planning, including meal preparation and presentation.
Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety regulations, and kitchen operations.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
A passion for cooking and creativity in meal presentation.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred but not essential.
