Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive GP Practice Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of a busy general practice. In this vital role, you will ensure the smooth delivery of healthcare services, manage staff, optimize practice efficiency, and uphold high standards of patient care. Your energetic leadership will foster a positive environment for both staff and patients, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated management professional with experience in healthcare or veterinary settings to make a meaningful impact within a supportive team.

Duties

Oversee the day-to-day running of the practice, ensuring all services operate efficiently and effectively
Lead, supervise, and support administrative and clinical staff to maintain high performance standards
Manage financial operations, including budgeting, billing, and resource allocation to ensure financial sustainability
Implement human resources policies, including recruitment, staff development, appraisals, and addressing staff concerns
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, data protection laws, and health and safety standards
Coordinate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient appointment scheduling and service delivery
Monitor practice performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance patient satisfaction and operational productivity

Skills

Proven supervising experience in a healthcare or veterinary environment
Strong management skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively
Financial management expertise to oversee budgets, billing processes, and resource planning
Knowledge of human resources practices including recruitment, training, and staff development
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
Effective communication skills for liaising with staff, patients, suppliers, and external agencies
Experience or familiarity with veterinary or healthcare operations is highly desirable
