Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant – Buyer / Planner to join our procurement team.

The ideal candidate will have purchasing and/or materials planning experience ideally from the automotive industry, however appropriate qualifications/experience, a professional attitude and a willingness to learn would be equally beneficial.

Duties

Booking and Receiving information via SAP.
General purchasing administration and data maintenance.
Interrogation of customer/supplier information.
Raising and issuing purchase orders to suppliers.
Monitoring and tracking purchase order status.
Booking transportation for delivery.
Tracking container shipments to UK port.
Plan and manage inventory levels of parts and materials.
SAP master maintenance including Bill on Materials.

Qualifications

Experience of MRP/ERP systems, inventory planning, forecasting and Bill of Materials management.
Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects/situations.
Able to monitor and improve performance and practice.
A confident communicator (in person/email/phone).
Ability to build strong relationships to bring about supportive supplier behaviours.
Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft office (especially Excel) would be a distinct advantage.
